TMRO Report itself sets almost nothing. Reading the site requires no account, and no cookie is needed to show you an article.

What the site stores

Theme preference

If you switch between light and dark, the choice is kept in your browser's local storage so the site does not flash the wrong colours next time. It never leaves your device and is not a cookie: clearing site data removes it.

Newsroom session

Staff signing in to the newsroom receive a session cookie. It is strictly necessary for that area and is set for no one else.

What advertising sets

This site shows advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or use similar identifiers to select ads, to limit how often you see the same one, and to measure whether an ad worked. Those cookies are set by Google, not by TMRO, and are governed by how Google uses data from partner sites.

How to control them

• Ad personalisation can be turned off at Google My Ad Center, without an account.
• Every browser can block or clear cookies for a site, and most have a separate setting for third-party cookies.
• Where your jurisdiction requires consent before advertising cookies are set, Google's consent flow is shown before they are.
